Meet the Owner
Sailing can change your life. It changed mine. I’m Captain Shane St. Clair, founder of Scovare Yachts, Inc. & Expeditions. Since I first coaxed a beat-up Snark Sailboat across the lake when I was 13 years old, I’ve been entranced by how the alchemy of wind and water moves us.
With over 50 years of experience in boating and sailing, I have a deep passion for the water and a commitment to providing you with unforgettable experiences. I founded my small business in 2003 and our mission at Scovare Yachts is to help everyone discover the magic of sailing and boating.
Based in Portland, Oregon on the beautiful Willamette River, we offer local sailing charters, boat charters, and a 10 bridge party boat tour with our fleet, plus weddings and corporate events onboard our largest boats. We also provide custom sailing services worldwide that include chartering, offshore training voyages, and more.
